Underwater acoustic communication is vital for applications such as environmental monitoring and underwater exploration, where the accuracy of channel estimation is paramount for reliable and efficient data transmission. This proposal addresses the critical need for robust channel estimation and equalizer development in both underwater acoustic and wireless environments. The unique challenges of these channels are highlighted, particularly the practical difficulties in applying theoretical mathematical models for signal dispersion, absorption, and noise. A significant discrepancy exists between simulated environments, which often rely on random parameters, and real-world conditions. This proposal outlines solutions for developing equalizers that account for these complexities, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical application.
