Web pages are usually designed for visual interaction and typically supported with visual blocks on web pages. For instance, menu, header, main content and footer are used as the main visual blocks of web pages. These visual elements are separated with spaces which are used as way-edges. For example, the space between the menu and main content is a way-edge to separate the menu and main content. In this study, eye tracking technology has been used to investigate how these way-edges are used. We observed the effects of way-edges on distribution of users' interests in our analysis. Users' interests are differently distributed on web pages with different designs whereas users' interests are distributed in a similar way on web pages with similar designs. According to our analysis, users' interests can be guided by alternative web designs.
