Özet:

The rapid growth in Information Technology has enhanced many developments in telecommunications and broadband services. Through which all kinds of businesses had a great impact of performance, which has automatically lead to high demand in these services. TCP/IP plays a major role in connectivity and delivery of messages between two end to end systems. The main reason for TCP to still exist as a transport layer protocol is that of its design and remarkable functionality. For wired networks, the performance issues of TCP are under seen only as congestion over the network rather than any other perspective. When compared these TCP implementations in wireless networks, number of factors cause performance of TCP to degrade. The factors may depend on environmental changes, fading and interference of radio signals and may include handovers in mobile systems. The performance of TCP can be enhanced using certain congestion control algorithms. The congestion algorithms used in wired networks may not give the expected performance in wireless networks. This project implements some scenarios of wireless networks and evaluates the performance of TCP using Tahoe, Reno, New Reno and Sack congestion control algorithms. This project tries to evaluate the importance of slow start parameter by changing its value.
