Özet:

Real-time services and applications such as video conferences, VoIP etc. are becoming popular day by day. These real-time services were used to be confined only in the wired domain but due to its popularity and increased demand, these real-time applications are being extended over the wireless networks which exceed the capacity of these wireless technologies. WiMAX, IEEE 802.16 is capable of supporting these real-time applications and is one of the most promising wireless access technologies.

In this paper, the performance of VOIP over WiMAX is analysis on different scheduling classes. MOS, jitter and end to end delay are used as the performance metrics to analyse the performance of VoIP. Opnet Modeller 14.5 is used for the simulation and the results are compared to analyse the performance of VoIP in different scheduling classes. Two scenarios, static WiMAX and mobile WiMAX are created in this paper. In static WiMAX, Performance of VoIP are analysed in all scheduling classes in different voice codecs whereas for the mobile WiMAX, the effect of mobility in the performance of VoIP in ertPS scheduling class in G711 voice codecs are analysed.
