Özet:

Biometric systems predominantly employ Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms, which are frequently characterized as black boxes due to their limited ability to provide meaningful explanations or justifications for their decisions. This lack of clear explanations or justifications poses a significant disadvantage, as it undermines user trust and comfort in artificial intelligence-based biometric systems. However, the adoption of Explainable AI enhances transparency in decision-making processes, thereby fostering greater user trust and acceptance. Therefore, in this thesis, an explainable writer identification system will be designed to enhance transparency by providing clear and understandable justifications for its decisions.
