Biyografi
A faculty member in electrical and electronics engineering is employed at the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC), where teaching and research activities are conducted in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Administrative responsibilities are also undertaken at the campus.
Education
- A B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with a focus on Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques.
- An M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, specializing in Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques.
- A Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, emphasizing Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques.
All degrees were earned with a focus on theoretical and applied electromagnetics.
Research and Academic Focus
Research has been conducted in various fields of electrical engineering, particularly in electromagnetics. Areas of interest include:
- Electromagnetic and microwave applications
- Metamaterials and multilayered engineered structures
- Wave propagation and scattering phenomena
- Antenna design and propagation studies
- Solar systems and related technologies
- Graduate and undergraduate courses in electromagnetic theory, antennas, and circuit theory are taught.
Contributions and Publications
Numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers have been authored, focusing on metamaterials, terahertz propagation, polarization rotators, and sensing technologies. Both theoretical and experimental methods are applied to advance the understanding of engineered electromagnetic structures.
Recognition and Awards
Recognition has been received for being listed among the World’s Most Influential Scientists, ranking in the top 2% globally according to bibliometric data from Stanford University and Elsevier. The International Union of Radio Science (URSI) awarded the “Young Scientist of the Year” distinction in 2008.
Professional Roles
Leadership and administrative responsibilities are undertaken at METU NCC, where contributions are made to academic planning and campus governance.
